Born and bred in South Louisiana, Marcella’s distinctive music is a dueling hybrid of classic Memphis soul and the freewheeling swagger of New Orleans funk woven together with the sighing laughter of her ancestors. As in he past, all profits from this event will support the Hands of Mothers' Education Initiative. In 2024-2025, Hands of Mothers hopes to pay school fees and provide backpacks, uniforms, school supplies and age-appropriate sanitary products to 165 children from kindergarten through high school. Importantly, we hope to be able to send 68 at-risk teens - the children of sex workers - to the safety and nurturing environment of local boarding high schools. You are changing the lives of these children and we are deeply grateful!
